Supplies to Keep the Children Entertained


Road trip with the family is always an enjoyable experience. However, it’s always another if there are lots of kids along. But of course, leaving them at home is out of the question if you don’t want to be accused of neglect, especially if they’re your kids.

You only need to do some strategies to ensure the kids have an enjoyable time. Planning and devising ways to keep them entertained will prevent them from getting bored and getting cranky while you’re on a long stretch of the road.

What’s the first thing you have to ensure? Supplies. There are several kid-tested supplies that will help a lot to keep your kids entertained. Dying to know what they are?

1. Books on Tape or CD – Toddlers will never say no to fairy tales movies and sounds. Books on tape played on the radio will keep them entranced as you drive by the country sides. Children aging 3 onwards can already appreciate this kind of entertainment. Just make sure you have headphones for them to listen with. Having individual CD or tape players is also ideal.
2. Portable Video Player – Watching videos is a great way to pass the time. It’s not only the children that will be entertained by this but adults as well.
3. Baking Sheet – This can be used a playing surface when using small toys and items.
4. Magnetized letters, shapes, and numbers
5. Activity Books, Sticker Books, Stick-on Plastic Picture Sets – Ideal for keeping toddlers entertained while honing their creativity.
6. Markers or Crayons – Kids can draw during the trip.
7. Sticker Cameras – By snapping sceneries and anything interesting on the road, the kids will be kept from getting bored.
8. Notebook – Kids can use this to write or draw anything on.
9. Soap Bubbles – Lowing bubbles inside the car will keep them entertained as well.
These are only some of the recommended paraphernalias you’ve got to have if you want to keep your kids entertained while on a long stretch of the road.

A Family that Drives Together Plays Together


Kids are too impatient in travels. You can’t control their temper if they choose to get mad because of boredom. Children become stressed when they travel for an hour or more. This causes nausea and head- aches to them. So, when you travel with kids, keep them occupied with travel toys and games.  

You may try to bring auto accessories that can make traveling with kids more pleasant, safe, and fun. Start first with a DVD portable player. Here are more recommended enjoyable stuffs to bring while the family is traveling in car. A handy display cube which is soft and made out of fabric and a hand puppet called, Peek-a Boo Monkey Puppet and Play Cube can be enjoyed by mommy and toddlers, while daddy who is driving the car can join in dubbing for the puppets.  If your family is going to a vacation in the farm and you want to give them insight and excitement about the place bring Milestone’s Barnyard Sorter with you. This is another cloth toy shape in cuddly farm animals with sounds. These toys during car ride are for your child age 9 months to 1 year. 

For your child age 9 and above bring with you, Simpson’s Travel Trivia Game. This is the best way to know more about the gang in Springfield. To be more educational, Magnetic Scrabble is still a good choice. This is a great game to play with older kids. Lastly, Travel-Sized Mastermind is another superb game for kids nine and up. It’s a portable toy which can sharpen your child’s brain and can be also challenging to parents.  

Give also each child a bag or plastic storage container to keep his games and toys organized. Let him know that every toy or game must be put in its container after use. An auto accessory that works great for storing small toys in a plastic auto bin can be helpful. The most important is, keep a joyful heart to express your love to your children in special travels with the whole family. Remember, that there could never be more days like this in the future.
