British Dealerships Sell Ex-Rental Vehicles to Unknowing Buyers

Isn’t it frustrating when you discover that the item you bought should have cost less? This is what a lot of Britain car owners are feeling right now. They were duped into thinking that the vehicles they bought only had one previous owner, when in truth it was owned by a rental company. A rental company! Can you just imagine to how many people those cars have been rented to.

In Britain, car owners found out that they unwittingly bought ex-rental vehicles much to their frustration. They said they could have paid thousands of dollars less had they known of this. However, the dealership where they bought the car held back that information. In fact, it even had a front company in which to register their vehicles under. Many of the buyers have already complained and now the Office of Fair Trading is conducting an investigation on the matter because what happened is clearly a violation of the rules on fair trading.

One of the companies that are in hot water right is Europcar, which is the biggest car rental company in Britain. This company registered the cars under the name Provincial Securities Ltd. This company doesn’t do any sort of business, it is just a front used by Europcar.

Many of the people who unknowingly bought cars that were previously for hire are not happy. The cars they bought are wasted and they just display lots of problems. Some of the problems include bad condensation, missing jack, faulty gearbox, and a lot more.

The Office of Fair Trading is now conducting an inquiry regarding this matter. In connection with this news, buyers really have to be very careful if they are intending to purchase second-hand vehicles. Be sure to know more about the vehicle’s background.
