2010 Mazda 3 could be Your Family Car

If you will recall, last year the Mazda 6 was awarded as the Best family Car by AMSW or the Association of Motoring Scottish Writers. I’m just thinking that another award for this brand is not far in the offing. I’m predicting that the next Mazda model to receive a posthumous award is the 2010 Mazda 3. If you attended the L.A. Auto Show then you probably saw it there. Lots of changes have been done for the 2010 model so, if you compare it to the present one you will really see the difference.

The 4-door 2010 Mazda 3 has a much-improved platform and is longer than the current model. It is now 180.9 inches long, 69.1 inches wide, and 57.9 inches high. The wheelbase remains to be 103.9 inches. Aside from the size, the new Mazda 3 has a more attractive design. The exterior features more sloping yet smooth contours that give it a more aerodynamic stance. This smooth contour is very evident whether you look at it in front, back, or side view. One very noticeable feature here is the big grille that seems to give the impression that the Mazda 3 is smiling broadly.

Aside from the great exterior, the new Mazda 3 features a superb interior. This feature-packed interior will not leave an occupant wanting. Inside are the wrap-around dash top, radio and climate control information, Bluetooth and hands-free phone and audio capability, 10-speaker Bose Centerpoint Surround System with AudioPilot, and an optional navigation screen. Well these are only some of the great features to be found inside.

Performance is one of the biggest attractions of the 2010 Mazda 3. There are several engine options available for this new model – the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that’s capable of providing 148 HP and 135-lb-ft of toque, and the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 167 HP and 168 lb-ft of torque.  Five and six-speed manual transmission are available as with a five-speed automatic that’s fitted with an optional Sport-AT manual shift mode. Independent multi-link rear suspension is installed to make the car stable even when driving in bad road conditions.

Just look at the 2010 Mazda 3’s pictures, and then judge for yourself if it deserves an award or not.
